SO... Have you received your mini catalog and the Sale-a-Bration catalog??? OH my... aren't they both wonderful!!! Since Sale-a-Bration begins January 24th, would you consider holding this month's orders until January 24th (or after)? Sale-a-Bration time = spend $50, get a product (or bundle) from the mini catalog for FREE!!!

This month I wanted to use new products from both catalogs. Since all the projects use designer paper from the new mini catalogs, all three projects seem to focus on the same color schemes.

Butterflies:

We will use the three sets in the Sale-a-Bration catalog: Fresh Vintage, Elementary Elegance and Kindness matters.

Hearts

This project is FULL of new products... guessing game: how many new products can you find? (answer at the bottom of this post.)

Apothecary Art:

And finally... my favorite project! This project uses new products again. I LOVE this stamp set. Okay, I think what makes this project so nice is 1st the stamp set... then the coloring! If you like coloring, this project will be simple! You'll probably notice this project is copied from the mini catalog (but more colors/options).

 

The little metal studs are 'trinkets' from the big catalog. They are sold with matching mini safety pins.

My January Swap Card

Here is my swap card for January.  I kinda copied the butterfly from the mini catalog... but did design the rest of the card using all new products from the mini catalogs.  This project used mostly Sale-a-Bration ideas.  Wait until you see the swap cards from the Occasions Mini catalog AND the Sale-a-Bration Mini catalog! 

You probably already know... I'm not an orange color fan.  BUT, I've been using Poppy Parade all month and must say I appreciate it!!!

Stampin With Janice - January 2012

I have missed Stampin with Janice for a few months... it seems like forever!

Here are the projects she prepared for us!

Hearts - we used the new embossing folder and edgelit to make the nice border.  I LOVE this new designer paper in the mini catalog... and the little touch of bling makes me happy!

Noel Card:

The minute I saw this stamp, I imagined this card!!!  It's so simple, classic and versitile.  The card goes together quick except for the coloring/cutting of the holly. 

Vanilla Classic:

 

The Holiday Mini catalog is full of so many awesome sets and accessories! The project uses the snow burst embossing folder, the velvet vanilla ribbon and the Hand Penned stamp set. We'll also be using the image from Easy Events. I cut this stamp separating the image from the words (did you know you can do that with any stamp!!!). This is another classic clean card - great for your 2012 holiday cards???

 

 

 

Calendar Box:

 

Janice prepared this project for us using some cheerful designer papers and colors... The calendar box was in the WOW bag and just about everyone expressed an interest in making this project. SO, here it is. You will have your choice of 3 designer papers that completely change the feel of the project. I already can imagine my box sitting on my desk with post its, paper clips ... neatly tucked inside. This project has a few too many choices (I LOVE doing that to you!) and is so much fun!

My November Swap AND Folsom Stampers Quarterly Exchange Card

Here is my monthly swap and quarterly Folsom Stampers exchange card.  Folsom Stampers have a themed swap and this time the theme is Kids cards.  I can't wait to see what the girls design and come up with...  Here's my card.

The stamp set is a hostess set 'Ain't Love Grand'.  It works well for this card.  As a matter of fact, change up the dsp and the stamp (there are quite a few cute ones in that set) from that set and you can make just about any flavor card.

 Whew, aren't you tired just looking at them all?  Imagine - all THAT in one day!  Yee Haw!  Stamp on Girlfriends! 

Okay, so, let me set the stage for future upcoming ShoeBox events... 

#1 - Denise and Mary have said they'd love to have them at their place.  Since we have 2 ShoeBox events per year (spring-all occasion, and fall-Christmas)... This will work out perfectly.  I"ll send the invite and plan to see you there!!! 

#2 - Girlfriend's weekend - definitely all about ShoeBox!  Every girlfriends weekend (to Oregon) has been 3 or 4 days of uninterrupted stampin - from sun up to sun down and beyond!  BUT, you have 4 days to complete all the boxes... much more relaxed.  You can bring your own projects to work on if/when you finish all the boxes.  I guess you all know I'm moving here soon...  whaaa...  Thinking about this makes it okay...  : )

Goodie Bag

Katrina's Goodie Bag

Talk about cute!!!  Katrina made this goodie bag for us last month.  I've had it sitting on my desk until Halloween.  I always think it would be a good idea to make little goodies for everyone (or maybe just a few of my favorites) at work... but never do.  The project sound tooo big...  These are so cute and just might be a good option.

Stampin with Janice - October 2011

Here are the cards we made at Janice's Wednesday night.

 

Don't you just love the spice cake designer paper...  and the new ribbon?

 

This card has the most cool layout...  it's a trifold.  I love how the paper and this stamp set coordinate.  On the inside of the card, we used markers direct to stamp and stamped on the inside...  The flower on the front is the Triple Treat single stamp.  Until I used this stamp, I didn't understand the name of the set (okay, a single stamp)...  But, now I do! You don't have to cut a thing!!!  Each layer perfectly fits SU's punches! Very nice!!!

Okay, in case you didn't know... I LOVE our hobby!!! This month's projects all were inspired by other incredible stampers, or past projects!  I can't wait to share them with you!

MatchBox Galore!
Did you know SU has a match box die to run thru the Big Shot?  Did you know that same die includes 3 labels/frames that coordinate with SU punches??? Yup and they are awesome.  This project was designed for Emmi's birthday. We had non-tangible gifts to give her and I knew there would be some creative way of packaging them into a cute little treat.  I made the wisteria matchbox for her.  Under each of the chocolates on the custom wrapper (... oh, that's another super fun part of this project!!) I wrote a one/two word description of her gifts.  How convenient was it to have 4 gifts???  The gift went over very well.  The gift presentation was really cute and fun to make.  THEN, girlfriends weekend was just a few weeks later and Diane Fisher's project (we ShoeBox) was a chest of drawers using the matchboxes (4 of them) and the Top Note die...  After making for of her project, I was definitely sure we need to make our matchbox project this month.  (okay... little note for all your faithful blog readers...  anyone placing an order at the November parties will become eligible to be in a drawing for one of these little chests of drawers...  )

The chocolate wrappers:  SU released a stamp set for perfectly covering Nugget chocolates!  Talk about cute (nope, that stamp set isn't for making your own Band-aids!) and personalizing a gift!!!  THEN, the new mini catalog has another holiday version of the stamp set (we have TWO to choose from!).

The project is very versatile.  If you know a bride-to-be, mommy-to-be, or need to make a quick/cute b-day gift - this would be perfect!

Christmas Stockings
This project is from Janice!  Plain and simple, I took her idea.  She had us make it at Wednesday Stampers and I love it (said with a squeak of delight and huge smile)!  I had a few other ideas for using this punch, mini jingle bells and the shimmery paper, but when I saw this one.. well, that was it!  Thank you JRR!!!

YUM, talk about a beautiful card!  This project was inspired by Gail's Girlfriend's Weekend ShoeBox card.  Okay, she'll give credit to Karen Barber for the original design (we swapped with her at convention).  The coloring is what makes this card magic!  Everyone loves coloring with markers (magic markers Donna!!!) right???  The coloring becomes so vivid due to the layering of colors and finishing off with the white gel pen. I'll show you all how to do this when we meet.
